The Melbourne-based Melba Recordings ended their first decade with a string of remarkable recordings that marked the label out as the real Wizard of Aus. This collection of premieres of music for viola and piano by Koechlin and Jongen made one marvel both at their being overlooked for so long and the imagination, courage and achievement of Melba in recording them in agenda-setting performances by both soloists.
